The Vacancy  


A highly experienced and highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer is required to provide support to the Cardiology team. As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will independently perform high-quality echo cardiograms and stress echo cardiograms on patients. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of cardiovascular studies and producing preliminary reports. 

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Echocardiography: Independently perform echo cardiograms on patients using various machine vendors, including GE, Siemens, and Phillips. Apply advanced imaging techniques such as Definity contrast, Global Longitudinal Strain, 4D imaging, and stress testing (exercise and pharmacological, with or without contrast). Handle adult congenital cases, cardiac-obstetrics, and vulnerable patient populations. 
  2. Clinical Support: Perform assisted TOES  
  3. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team 

Qualifications:

  • Current registration with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer.
  • Expert knowledge of cardiac ultrasound machines, including GE, Siemens, and Phillips, as well as transoesophageal echo systems and exercise stress systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
