    • Hours: 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM with a half-hour unpaid lunch break
Medical Administrator - Locum Coverage  
Position Overview: The Medical Administrator will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of the front desk of a medical specialist practice.  In this role, you will be responsible for a range of administrative tasks that contribute to the smooth functioning of the clinic. The role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism while interacting with patients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Check-in: Greet patients warmly, verify their appointments, and accurately register them in the clinic's system. Provide a welcoming and informative environment for patients upon arrival.
  • Data Entry and Scanning: Enter patient information into the electronic medical records system accurately. Scan and upload relevant patient records and documents into the system for future reference.
  • Billing and Claims: Prepare and process patient billing after their appointments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. Complete and submit claims to Medicare or other relevant insurance providers.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with patients, clinicians, and other administrative staff. Answer phone calls and inquiries courteously and efficiently.
  • File Management: Retrieve patient files and records as needed for appointments, ensuring proper organisation and confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Office Closure: Ensure that the clinic's front desk is appropriately closed at the end of each day, including turning off equipment, securing files, and preparing the space for the next business day.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience in medical administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient data entry and computer skills.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with medical billing procedures 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional and courteous demeanour when interacting with patients and colleagues.
