About the opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Director, Ethics & Compliance to join the Legal & Compliance team covering Australia and New Zealand. In this role, you will act as a strategic partner to commercial and medical teams, ensuring that business objectives align with ethical and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for driving a culture of compliance, providing expert advisory services, and overseeing key governance initiatives.
 
This position is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced setting, balancing strategic input with hands-on execution to safeguard the company’s reputation and operational integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of compliance programs, ensuring alignment with internal policies and external regulatory frameworks.
  • Provide expert guidance on Sales & Marketing strategies, Medical Education initiatives, Public Affairs, and Government Relations to ensure ethical and legal adherence.
  • Collaborate with global and regional Compliance teams to enhance policies, training, and risk management strategies.
  • Support and oversee commercial compliance audits and assurance programs to monitor adherence to regulatory obligations.
  • Advise on risk management strategies, internal controls, and decision-making frameworks to enhance transparency and accountability.
  • Manage compliance-related incidents, ensuring appropriate remediation, reporting, and ongoing improvements to mitigate future risks.

Skills and Experience Required
  • Significant experience in a Compliance & Ethics Manager / Leader role within the ANZ pharmaceutical sector.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Law, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of industry regulations, including the Therapeutic Goods Act, Medicines Australia Code of Conduct, privacy laws, and anti-bribery legislation.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex compliance challenges while delivering pragmatic and effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
  • High level of analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
